Cross-sector collaboration and action are critical to address challenges associated with population growth and climate change. Stormwater & NPDES
In support of the WA State Department of Ecology's NPDES permit requirements, Catalyst 2030 Coaches help strengthen City’s Surface Water Management Plan’s, with a specific focus on Outreach and Education Programs, to reduce or eliminate behaviors and practices that cause or contribute to adverse stormwater impacts on community infrastructure and natural systems. Our work encourages the public to participate in stewardship activities and to meet the NPDES permit requirement for measuring behavior change.
1) Facilitate communications between the City, school districts, business and nonprofit sectors
2) Measure behavior change to comply with NPDES permit obligations no later than February 2, 2016.
3) Curate and enhance access to shared resources related to stormwater pollution solutions.
4) Develop effective communications strategies to build general awareness, effect behavior change and celebrate progress.
5) Leverage the work of our non-profit partner Sustainability Ambassadors, a program empowering student and teacher leaders to link curriculum rigor with community relevance.
