Sustainability Ambassadors on CommonAgenda
CommonAgenda is the Sustainability Ambassadors portal hosted by Catalyst 2030 to connect people, projects, and sustainability resources at a community scale. Set to launch in early 2014, CommonAgenda will roll-out in phases starting with Sustainability Profiles and a Resource Library, followed by Curated Impact Networks and an interactive Project Atlas.
Profiles showcase the attributes and sustainability work of communities, organizations, and projects. Drawing from the STAR Communities' seven goal areas and 48 objectives, Sustainability Ambassadors will develop and populate profile templates related to stormwater pollution solutions, green infrastructure, green buildings and climate change.
Articles, white papers, videos, maps and online resources will populate the ORCA Resource Library to provide a central, searchable wealth of sustainability information. Eventually this database will permit both individuals and organizations to submit and intuitively search for resources using cloud-based artificial intelligence software.
While some of Sustainability Ambassadors work will be achieved through regular face-to-face meetings and community summits, the ability to connect across sectors, jurisdictions, and generations at any time and from anywhere is critical in today's world. Sustainability Ambassadors will take the lead on designing and curating online work spaces to facilitate collective impact.
Visualization of sustainability projects in a geospatial format is imperative to engage ORCA users and encourage continual exploration of resources. The Project Atlas will initially draw on existing visual project databases such as those developed by King County DNRP, Stewardship Partners, and the Puget Sound Partnership and will progress to include visualizations of Sustainability Ambassador developed Profiles.
